Red blood cells carry oxygen to various cells and tissues in our body. Therefore, they are vital for our existence. These cells have important constituent called hemoglobin, a conjugated protein that combines with oxygen and transports it to different cells and tissues.

A low red blood cell count could be due to numerous reasons. A deficiency in iron intake, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12 intake can cause undue damage to cell membrane and functioning of red blood cells leading to early death and destruction.
