Pancreatic Cancer Symptoms

Pancreatic cancer does not produce much symptoms in the beginning phase and this is the reason that most of the people are not able to detect the development of this disease and when it is diagnosed, it gets too late for its complete cure. Even if there are certain symptoms seen during the starting days, they are quite vague and thus people ignore them.

Given below are some pancreatic cancer symptoms that can help one recognize the development of this disease to a very large extent:

  • Jaundice: This is one of the most important symptoms. This occurs when pancreatic cancer is developing. This, in turn, results in yellow color of the sclera as well as the skin.
  • Abdominal pain: This is again very important symptom. It occurs generally in upper parts of the abdomen, and may also spread to back in some cases. Lying down after taking diets can worsen this pain.
  • Weight loss: One starts to lose weight without making any efforts towards it. This is one sign that shows that pancreatic cancer is likely to develop in future. Losing weight is quite a common symptom in most of the cancers.
  • Vomiting: This is one of the vaguest symptoms as people may miss out thinking about pancreatic cancer once they feel like vomiting.
  • Appetite loss: another very vague symptom that may indicate a normal illness and people often misunderstand it as a normal digestive issue and thus ignore it.
  • Itchy skin: This is not a common symptom as far as pancreatic cancer is concerned. This can be taken as a normal skin issue by people but when it occurs with other problems like jaundice, abdominal pain, etc, then it must not be ignored in any case.
