Type 2 Diabetes Experimental Treatment

Diabetes is one of the most common kinds of disease affecting millions of people worldwide. There are several treatment plans that are still being researched by various people.  Until now the main treatment for diabetes has been through insulin, a combination of insulin and oral medications and also through life style changes.

There are other forms of treatments that are still in their experimental stage and yet some people have tried it. For example stem cell research is one such branch of experimentation. By using one’s own stem cells an effective cure may be found by replacing the beta cells in the pancreas.

Diabetes is being studied for several years and the only effective form of treatment has been found in insulin until today. However, insulin does not cure the disease but only maintains it from becoming harmful. A person who is under going treatment for diabetes has to depend on insulin through out their lives until the condition rectifies on its own.

Experiments are being done on how to control the insulin production in the body and how to overcome insulin resistance in the human body. However, making or forcing a human body to function normally is not possible because there are several factors involved. In a human body all the organs are dependant on each other for daily functioning and it is very difficult to identify where the problem started actually. To get to the root of problem is the only effective way of curing a disease permanently.
