Canker Sores In The Mouth What Is It From ?

        Canker sores can be seen as a type of mouth ulcer. Canker sores can also be referred to ‘recurrent minor aphthous ulcers’ in medical terms.

        However, canker sore is different from the other forms of aphthous stomatitis and aphthous ulcers. In fact, Canker sore can be seen as the most common type of mouth ulcer.

        Nowadays, it can be said that the exact cause of canker sores seems to be unknown to scientists. However, it seems that the development of canker sore is associated to a reaction of an individual's own immune system.

        There are no explained reasons but canker sore is believed to form when unrecognized chemical molecules are found by a person's immune system. The presence of unrecognized molecules activates immune system's lymphocytes to attack. The immune system's lymphocytes can be described as a type of white blood cell. This situation is similar to a Transplant rejection, when transplanted organ are attacked by a person's immune system.

        There are also many factors that can trigger the outbreaks of canker sores. First of all, using mouthwashes and toothpastes which contain sodium lauryl sulfate or SLS can be related with an increased recurrence rate of canker sores. Secondly, trauma on oral tissues which happened from self-inflicted bite can cause canker sores too. Thirdly, emotional stress and unhealthy diet can also be related to the cause of canker sores. Fourthly, hormonal change can be seen as the cause of canker sore too. For example, there is a remission of canker sore during women got pregnant.

         Finally, there are other factors which can be related to the outbreaks of canker sores such as Genetics, Allergies to foods, Medical conditions, Infectious agents and Medications.
