Foods That Balance HDL And LDL Cholesterol  

Both HDL and LDL cholesterol play an important role in preventing the heart diseases. In the same way even if one of these levels is out of proportion it can lead to heart diseases. Hence, it is very important to maintain a proper balance of the HDL and LDL cholesterol.

A proper HDL/LDL balance can be achieved through the kind of food that you eat. You need to eat more natural food since this supports the body’s functions in a better way. Also, the diet of a person should include more whole wheat, green vegetables, leafy vegetables and things with soluble fibers like oats, fruits, barley, beans, peas, legumes etc. It is believed that fish and foods that contain omega 3 fatty acid can increase the HDL levels. You can also try using canola oil, avocado oil, olive oil and peanut butter as these are good ways to increase the HDL levels.

A very good way of reducing the LDL levels is by replacing the trans fats and saturated fats with monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats. You must remember the basic thing that all the processed foods should be avoided because these contain trans fats. Some food items that can help in reducing LDL cholesterol are onions, green tea, shiitake mushroom and chili pepper. Another way to reduce LDL is to avoid saturated fats by reducing the animal and dairy fat and consume unprocessed vegetable fats in its place. Once the LDL levels decrease, the proportion of HDL is likely to increase.

Eating the right diet can definitely help maintain the HDL/LDL cholesterol balance in the right proportion.
