Davy Crockett: He was a 19th-century American folk hero, frontiersman, soldier and politician. He also represented Tennessee in the U.S. House of Representatives, and also took part in the Texas Revolution. He died during the Battle of the Alamo.

Aretha Franklin: She is an American singer, songwriter and pianist commonly referred to as the Queen of Soul. She is also adept at jazz, blues, R&B and gospel music. Rolling Stone magazine ranked her number one on the list of The Greatest Singers of All Time.

Dolly Parton: She is a popular American singer-songwriter, author, multi-instrumentalist, actress and also a philanthropist.

Morgan Freeman: He is an American actor, film director, and narrator. He is renowned for his voice and the style of speaking. Freeman has received Academy Award nominations for his performances in Street Smart, Driving Miss Daisy, The Shawshank Redemption and Invictus and won in 2005 for Million Dollar Bay.

Al Gore, Jr. He was the forty-fifth vice president of the US, from the year 1993 until the year 2001 when Bill Clinton was the president. He was also the Democratic Party nominee for President in the 2000 U.S. presidential election.

James Agee: He was an American author, journalist, poet, screenwriter and film critic. In the 1940s, he was one of the most influential film critics in the U.S. Agee won the Pulitzer posthumously for his novel, A Death in the Family, which is supposed to be autobiographical.

Elvis Presley: He is perhaps the most famous and well known American singer in the twentieth century. His hometown was Memphis, Tennessee. He is often called the "King of Rock and Roll" or plain and simple "the King".

Cybill Shepherd: She is an actress, who attained fame with the television serial entitled Moonlighting. Her birthplace is the city of Memphis.

Tina Turner: A singer, who won the Grammy in the year 1972. She has also starred in a Mad Max movie along with Mel Gibson. Her birthplace is Brownsville, Tennessee.
