What Does A Passport Look Like

A passport is issued by the Department of State in the US. This document is extremely important if you want to travel abroad.

Basically a passport establishes that you are a citizen of the United States and guarantees your entry back to the US upon your return from an International trip.

If you do not have a passport, you will want to know what does a passport look like? A passport is like a booklet. When you open it, the first two pages provide information about you. The pages will have you photograph, your name, date of birth, the date the passport was issued and the expiration date of the passport.

The next two pages are government information pages and it is here that you have to fill in your address, contact details and details about your next of kin. Many people prefer to fill in these details with pencil on receiving their passport because this information may keep changing over a period of time.

Thereafter, there are blank pages in your passport which are used to get your visa stamped well to receive entry and exit stamps. The entry stamp is stamped when you enter into a foreign country; and the exit stamp when you leave the country. In addition, when you return to the United States, the US Immigration will stamp an entry stamp on your arrival.

A passport is a proof of your citizenship and identity when you cross borders internationally. Without a passport, it is not at all possible to go on an international trip.
