Nationals from certain countries do not require a visa to travel to South Korea if they stay period does not exceed 90 days. If the stay period extends 90 days, an extension can be applied for with relevant documents at the immigration department in South Korea itself. Nationals from all other countries are required to have a valid visa stamped on their passport before leaving their home country.
Visa Requirements to Travel to South Korea:
South Korea issues two types of visa depending on the nature of the visit. These are tourist visa and business visa. Each type requires you to submit documents and these are listed below:
Tourist Visa to South Korea:
A valid and signed passport
A duly filled visa application form
Confirmation of hotel reservation. The address and phone number of the hotel has to be mentioned in the visa application
One colored passport size photograph
A round tip airline ticket along with itinerary
Proof of sufficient funds to take care of all your expenses during your stay in South Korea
A letter from your employer stating that you are full time employee, you are taking a holiday to South Korea and that you will resume work upon your return.
You will have to pay the necessary visa fee at the time of submitting your visa application and supporting documents.
Business Visa to South Korea:
A valid and signed passport
A duly filled visa application form
A colored passport size photograph
A letter from the Korean organization that is calling you for business stating the nature of the business
A letter from your company on the company's letterhead stating the nature of business, the business reference in South Korea and an undertaking to take your financial responsibility and return to your home country.
